Description
Alkali-Resistant Glassfiber, also known as AR Glassfiber, is a specialized reinforcement material with exceptional resistance to the corrosive effects of alkaline environments, making it highly suitable for applications involving silicate-based cement. It exhibits outstanding alkali resistance, lightweight high strength, corrosion resistance, frost resistance, and excellent design flexibility. Alkali-Resistant Glassfiber is an ideal substitute for materials such as asbestos, plant fibers, organic synthetic fibers, and steel fibers. It finds wide applications in Glassfiber Reinforced Concrete (GRC) as reinforcement material and in non-load-bearing concrete components. This environmentally friendly and high-performance material is a versatile solution for enhancing construction projects.
Alkali-Resistant Glassfiber yarn with an zirconia content exceeding 16.5% is produced using the pool kiln method. The yarn is woven and coated, with a high-performance polymer material applied to the surface, ranging from 10% to 16%. This material demonstrates excellent resistance to alkali erosion from cementitious mortars and offers good physical and mechanical properties as well as chemical stability. It is particularly advantageous for exterior wall insulation construction to prevent wall cracking, as well as for retrofitting and insulating old structures. It effectively addresses challenges related to cracks, delamination, and detachment in external wall insulation systems.
Characteristics
- Produced using the pool kiln method, our Alkali-Resistant Glassfiber exhibits an zirconia content of ≥16.5%. This results in high tensile strength, uniform strength distribution, a high modulus of elasticity, and low elongation at break.
- The application of high-performance polymer materials, featuring a double-layer alkali resistance protection, ensures that our Alkali-Resistant Glassfiber boasts higher tensile strength in alkali environments. Its long-term resistance to alkali erosion significantly surpasses that of mid-alkali glass fiber grids.
- Resistant to corrosion and UV radiation.
- The grid structure maintains excellent dimensional stability with optimal flexibility for cutting and construction.
- Our product offers outstanding durability, with a normal service life of up to 50 years.
